Chicago air is thiccc with Cape Mays—a warbler that seldom showed its face in spring.
A group of 12 Cape May Warblers laid claim to their grounds at Montrose. To see all variations, iterations of the plumage on display, in the same tree, is satisfying.
Daydreaming, I line them up in a gradient “drab” to the left and “flashy” to the right, but even in my mind, they won’t sit still. The lil’ plump tigers leap from branch to branch.
